Job Description

Full time Occupational Therapist needed near Emery, CA area (School-based)

Occupational Therapist (OT) – School-Based, Full-Time
Location: Emery, CA area
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 37.5 hours/week
Start Date: August 2025 (for the 2025–2026 school year)
Compensation: $55–$70/hour, based on experience and skillset

Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time, licensed Occupational Therapist to support students across a full range of grade levels in the Emery, CA area for the 2025–2026 school year. This position is school-based and involves working with a diverse caseload of students with varying needs.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-help, and functional skills within the educational environment

  • Develop individualized goals and treatment plans in alignment with students' IEPs

  • Provide direct therapy services focused on fine motor development, handwriting, self-regulation, sensory processing, visual-perceptual skills, and functional school participation

  • Assist students with adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to increase access to curriculum and school routines

  • Support students in developing independence in tasks such as dressing, toileting, feeding, and organizing materials

  • Collaborate with teachers and classroom teams to integrate OT strategies into daily instruction and classroom activities

  • Model and train staff on sensory strategies, classroom modifications, and motor planning support

  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goal setting, and provide regular updates on student progress

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services, assessments, and communications

  • Participate in district-level collaboration and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed

  • Maintain professional standards and comply with all FERPA, HIPAA, and district regulations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

  • Valid California Occupational Therapy License

  • NBCOT certification

  • Prior experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Compensation:

  • $55–$70/hour, depending on experience, education, and clinical expertise
  • Full-time schedule aligned with the academic calendar (approximately 37.5 hours/week)
