Behavioral Technician
Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
Location Glendale, California; Onsite
Position Summary
As a Behavioral Technician, you will provide classroom, behavioral, and personal support services to students across various grade levels within a school-based setting. This role is well-suited for experienced Behavioral Technicians, Paraprofessionals, and Behavior Interventionists who are passionate about supporting students academically, behaviorally, and socially in educational environments. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom instruction, implementing behavior support strategies, and supporting student daily living needs while collaborating closely with teachers, school staff, and behavior support teams. Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift
- Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday–Friday
- Hours per week: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Contract length: School-based assignment
Key Duties
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities for individual students and small groups
- Reinforce lessons, classroom routines, and academic concepts in core subject areas
- Support students with toileting, diapering, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and other daily living tasks as needed
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival and dismissal
- Collect and document student data under the supervision of a BCBA when required by the district
- Prepare classroom materials, perform light clerical duties, and support classroom organization
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and support teams to promote student success and safety
- Participate in trainings, meetings, and additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Must meet one of the following:
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Completion of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university
- Passing score on the California Paraprofessional Exam (ParaPro Assessment)
Licenses & Certifications
- Required: Ability to pass background check and meet district employment requirements
Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff in a classroom environment
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a student-centered approach
- Comfortable providing toileting, diapering, and other personal care support to students
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, mobility support, and extended periods of standing or movement
