Job Description

Administrator – Compensation
Compensation
Salary Range: $105,000 – $115,000 annually

Location: Newark, NJ
Onsite | Full-Time | Human Resources

Position Summary
As an Administrator of Compensation, you will support a leading academic healthcare organization in Northern New Jersey by managing and administering compensation programs across the enterprise. This role partners closely with HR leadership and operational stakeholders to ensure compensation structures are competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational and labor requirements. You will play a key role in supporting job classification, salary benchmarking, and union-related compensation initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Key Duties

  • Manage compensation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Conduct market analysis, salary benchmarking, and compensation reviews to support competitive pay structures.
  • Oversee job classification, position control processes, and maintenance of job description libraries.
  • Support union wage programs, collective bargaining efforts, and compensation-related labor negotiations.
  • Supervise compensation staff and assist with day-to-day operations and system maintenance.

Requirements
Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Licenses & Certifications

  • Required: None specified

Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of compensation experience, including compensation administration and labor relations.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with HRIS or compensation systems such as Oracle or similar platforms.
  • Prior experience in unionized healthcare, public-sector, or academic environments preferred.
