Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a full-time or part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide school-based therapy services to students at a charter school in Detroit, MI for the current school year. This is a W2 contract position with benefits offered. The SLP will provide evaluations, direct therapy services, collaborate with educational teams, and support students in achieving their communication goals.

Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift

  • Current School Year
  • Part-Time – 3 days per week (prefer Wed, Thurs, Fri)
  • Follows Academic Calendar

Key Duties

  • Conduct speech-language evaluations and determine eligibility in accordance with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE).
  • Develop, implement, and manage student IEPs and maintain assigned caseload.
  • Provide speech-language therapy services addressing articulation, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and intervention teams to support language acquisition and student success.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in intervention meetings and provide strategies to support students at risk in language development.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication while working collaboratively with school staff.
  • Travel between multiple school buildings as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development while demonstrating leadership and professional ethics.

Requirements

Education

Required:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Minimum of 60 semester hours of academic coursework in communication disorders, development, evaluation, and treatment as required by Michigan Rule R340.1796.
  • Minimum of 300 clock hours of supervised practicum experience with individuals presenting a variety of communication disorders.

Licenses & Certifications

Required:

  • SB Endorsement and/or Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
  • State of Michigan certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired preferred.
  • CFY candidates are welcome to apply.

Skills

  • Experience assessing and treating articulation, language, voice, and fluency impairments.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of IEP development and compliance with school, state, and federal regulations.
  • Willingness to learn district-specific language acquisition strategies.
