Job Description

RCM Health Care is looking for a Paraprofessional/ PCA to provide services to 1 student who resides in zip code 19380.  Services will need to be in the home.  We are looking for someone to start right away, providing 3 hours per day of services, 5 days per week, during the school year. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIATES WHO CAN SEE STUDENT DURING SCHOOL HOURS OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER SCHOOL.

Compensation – 
Hourly Rate: $25.00-28.00 per hour + round trip mileage

Position Summary 
As a Personal Care Assistant you will provide in-person servicess to 1 student in their home in West Chester, PA.  You will provide specialized evaluations, direct therapy services, and consultation to support students with significant physical, neurological, and multiple disabilities.You will collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams to develop and implement individualized services that promote student access to the educational environment and support participation in school-based activities. Responsibilities

– Hours per week: 3 hours per day, 5 days per week + round trip mileage

# Key Duties:

  • Core Responsibilities
  • Individualized Support: Provide direct assistance based on a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan. 
  • Personal Care & Daily Living: Assist with hygiene, toileting, diapering, feeding, physical positioning, and mobility (using walkers, wheelchairs, or braces).
  • Behavioral & Social Management: Implement behavior support plans, positive reinforcement, conflict resolution, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Classroom Assistance: Help teachers adapt lesson materials, monitor academic engagement, and supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess. 
  • Documentation: Track daily progress notes, behavior logs, and attendance data for special education teams. 

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (some specialized therapeutic or private schools prefer prior coursework or experience in education/behavioral health). 
  • Experience: Frequently requires 6 months to 1 year of experience working with children, special education students, or in a school/daycare environment. 
  • Certifications: Often requires or provides training in CPR and First Aid. 
  • Additional Certifications: Current Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance. 

Skills

  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and school-based documentation requirements.
  • Experience working with pediatric students with severe physical, neurological, and multiple disabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary educational teams.
  • Experience with adaptive equipment, positioning, mobility training, and safe transfer techniques.
