Well known community hospital in Boston is currently seeking and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join their dedicated team. This role is M-F with some rotating weekends. It comes with an amazing benefits package as well as a competitive salary. Please apply for more details. 

Pharmacy Technician
The pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing support and assistance to clinical staff in the management of medication ordering and delivery.

  • Communicates among a number of individuals, including patients, co-workers, insurance companies and prescribers.
  • Demonstrates compassion and care by proactively identifying and resolving potential problems.
  • Works on a team to fulfill prescription orders from start to finish with an in-depth understanding of each workstation.
  • Understands and follows applicable Federal and State laws (e.g. HIPAA), regulations , professional stands, and ethical principles.   
  • As allowable by state law, certified and trained pharmacy technicians can expand on their clinical and managerial responsibilities.
  • Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with patients, outside providers, referral sources or others.
  • Responsible for continued professional growth and development.  

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies, etc.
  • Adheres to standards of Employee Conduct and all related policies and procedures by:
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service;
  • Showing respect to other employees;
  • Adhering to standards of cultural competency and non-discrimination;
  • Adhering to standards of privacy;
  • Adhering to attendance and other policies and utilizing appropriate notification and other procedures.
  • Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.
  • Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Education: High School graduate or GED required. Current valid and unrestricted pharmacy technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy.
  • Experience: Must have completed Pharmacy Technician Trainee requirements.
  • Skills/Abilities: Ability to work on a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills in English as well as basic reading and math skills.  Computer proficiency with an electronic medical record.  Commitment to exceptional customer service.
