Reports to: Associate Director of Medicine

Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to families as well as engage in health promotion activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to a panel of adult patients on a continuing basis including but not limited to
- Evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Initial assessment and management of mental health conditions e.g. depression and anxiety disorders
- Ordering and analyzing necessary diagnostic tests using high value care principles and EBM to inform clinical decision-making
- Prescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence-based manner and within the scope of licensure
- Advising patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate preventive screenings
- Referring patients for consultant services when necessary
- Engage in health promotion activities and recruitment efforts for the site
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations
- Complete EMR documentation, billing, and patient-related paperwork in a timely manner
- Comfort working with diverse populations including recent immigrants to the United States
- Participate in night and weekend call shared among clinicians
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
- Attend and participate in clinic, provider, and all staff meetings
- Participate in pre-visit planning activities with the other members of the care team
- Participate in center wide and clinic-specific quality improvement projects and peer review
- Participate in appropriate certification/maintenance of certification and continuing education activities
- Maintain updated license and DEA
- Work continually to assure deliverance of quality clinical care in a safe, efficient, competent, and effective manner
- Comply with all laws applicable to the practice of your specialty including HIPAA and mandated reporting
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree, specifically MSN (Master of Science in Nursing), Doctoral Degree, specifically DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner
- Women's health exp strongly preferred
- Current and valid NYS license
- Current DEA certificate
- Updated BLS and infection control certificate
- Excellent bed side manner
Salary: 119k – 125k DOE + amazing benefits
