Job Description
Wonderful and well known community health center located in Boston, is currently seeking and experienced Supervisor for their ED. RN – Emergency Dept Supervisor (Days) – 3 day work week!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise as part of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Ensure sufficient staffing during shift.
- Develop work assignments for employees on shift and ensure staff are assigned breaks and lunches.
- Ensure that nursing, medical assistants, paramedics and clerical staff are performing their assigned duties.
- Monitor and report absenteeism.
- Review and react to issues and concerns on shift.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure clinical guidelines and protocols are followed.
- Ensure that staff is in compliance with DPH and HIPAA rules and regulations and report any known violations to the Clinical Administrator Director.
- Ensure that nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including appropriate dress code.
- Plan and implement orientation of new staff.
- Attend and participate in all weekly and administrative meetings.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies, CMS Pace Program Regulations and Standards, applicable State regulations and guidelines, ESP policies and procedures and all laws related to position responsibilities and employment at
- Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
- Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Current MA RN Licensure
- Experience: Five years professional nursing experience and at least three years of supervisorial experience.
- Skills/Abilities: BLS, PALS and ACLS Certification
Working Conditions:
- Physical Environment: Frequent sitting, occasional standing & walking, and lifting of 5-10 lbs.
- Manual Dexterity: Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate computer keyboard.
- Audible/Visual Demands: Requires ability to see computer screen and reports.
