Job Description
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – PMHNP
Inpatient setting
M-F, no weekends or holidays.
Hours: Days
$120k – $175k

Behavioral health accountable care organization providing cutting edge inpatient treatment and stabilization for individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use needs. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are a critical part of a multidisciplinary team and possess unique expertise and a focus on providing quality behavioral health care to acute populations.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are dedicated team members responsible for assisting a variety of patients by evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions and overseeing the development and implementation of treatment plans. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to take care of the mental, emotional or behavioral disorders for patients engaged in services.
- Provide evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic interventions
- Provide treatment either independently or with physician supervision in accordance with Massachusetts regulations
- Develop treatment plans, measure progress against the plans, and make adjustments as needed
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
- Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists to assess and adjust treatment plans
- Coordinate and communicate with case managers, family members and other stakeholders regarding treatment and care
- Participate in the teaching of students and other trainees
- Participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement programs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health) accredited by a Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing-recognized national accreditation body
- Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or five years of experience in Nursing preferred but candidates who have a strong interest in working with patients who come from underserved populations are encouraged to apply
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current valid DEA certificate and MA Controlled Substances certificate or eligibility
- Buprenorphine waiver required or willingness to acquire waiver
- Current advanced practice certification by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing- approved nationally recognized certifying body
- No Medicare or Medicaid sanctions
- Knowledgeable about DMH, DPH, BSAS and TJC requirements for Behavioral Health Facilities
