Job Description

Medical Director – Lead the Future of Geriatric Care
Location: Oversees two locations Lakehurst, NJ and Oceanport, NJ
Target salary: $280k and comprehensive benefits

Monday – Friday
8:00am – 5:00pm

Our client, a thriving PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) organization, is seeking an experienced Medical Director to oversee the medical aspects of care delivery and drive clinical excellence. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a mission-driven team dedicated to improving the lives of frail older adults in a holistic, interdisciplinary environment.

About the Role

The Medical Director will be the clinical cornerstone of the program, responsible for delivering high-quality care, ensuring positive clinical outcomes, and fostering collaboration across teams. This individual will provide strategic oversight of quality initiatives, medical policies, and interdisciplinary care plans while leading a team of Primary Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide the clinical team, including physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Lead the development and implementation of medical policies, clinical standards, and care protocols.
  • Oversee quality assessment and performance improvement programs.
  • Review and address quality of care issues, implementing corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Provide medical expertise and leadership in the training and education of interdisciplinary team members.
  • Represent the organization to external agencies, professional groups, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with the provider network to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery.

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. with an active state medical license.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice; advanced certification in geriatrics is highly preferred.
  • At least 3 years in a lead administrative or medical leadership role.
  • Experience in a managed care environment with knowledge of quality management, performance improvement, and physician leadership.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population (or willingness to undergo training upon hire).
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and state-required liability auto insurance.
  • Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of the physical, mental, and social needs of older adults.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for chronic disease management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
