Special Education Teacher (K-8) – Chicago, IL

RCM Healthcare is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support K-8 students. This is a full-time position available immediately through June 11, 2025.

Special Education Teacher Position Details:

• Hours: ~40 per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: June 11, 2025
• Grade Levels: Kindergarten – 8th grade

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and state standards
• Adapt and modify curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to support diverse learning styles
• Provide direct instruction and support in small group, one-on-one, and inclusive classroom settings
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to ensure academic and behavioral success
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to create a cohesive learning environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations related to special education services
• Assist in classroom management, behavioral intervention strategies, and crisis response as needed
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training to stay current on best practices in special education

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

• Illinois PEL with Special Education Endorsement
• Elementary teaching experience required
• Successful completion of the Special Education Content Exam
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Special Education Teacher Compensation:

• $36 – $46/hr., depending on experience
