Job Description
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in person, full time
RCM Health Care is looking for a REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN (RBT) to work with a first grade student in Salem, NJ. April 1st – June 12th with the possibility of returning for the 2025/2026 school year.
JOB GOAL
To assist identified students by implementing student behavior plans and collecting data to assist students with extinguishing and managing negative behaviors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
- Crisis Intervention/Restraint Certification (CPI)
- High School Diploma, BA/BS degree preferred
- NJ Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher Certification; Special Education preferred
- Successful experience with student behavior interventions
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and employers
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
- Work as a collaborative team member with the classroom teachers, Child Study Team members, and Special Education Service Providers.
- Serve as part of an interdisciplinary team that develops and implements behavior plans for individual students.
- Assists with direct implementation of skill acquisition and behavior intervention plans developed by the CST and/or BCBA/Behaviorist.
- Utilizes crisis prevention protocols including de-escalation strategies, restraint and seclusion procedures, and completion of behavior reports.
- Conduct certain types of assessments such as stimulus preference assessments and collect appropriate data.
- Review data on a regular basis with the CST, BCBA/behaviorist, teacher(s), and other necessary staff members to revise the behavior plan as is necessary.
- Collect data regarding student performance and progress and share this information with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Collect specific data reflecting student progress towards IEP behavior goals and objectives and participate in IEP meetings as necessary.
- Maintain ongoing communication between school staff and CST/BCBA.
- Participation in staff development appropriate to specific position.
- Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
- Protect confidentiality of records and information about students and staff, and use discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines.
- Adhere to New Jersey school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies and regulations, school regulations and procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the CST or principal, and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
Compensation
$30/hour – following the academic calendar, W2 contact
