Job Description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in person, full time
RCM Health Care is looking for a REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN (RBT) to work with a first grade student in Salem, NJ.  April 1st – June 12th with the possibility of returning for the 2025/2026 school year.

JOB GOAL
To assist identified students by implementing student behavior plans and collecting data to assist students with extinguishing and managing negative behaviors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
  2. Crisis Intervention/Restraint Certification (CPI)
  3. High School Diploma, BA/BS degree preferred
  4. NJ Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher Certification; Special Education preferred
  5. Successful experience with student behavior interventions
  6. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
  7. Highly developed oral and written communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and employers

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Work as a collaborative team member with the classroom teachers, Child Study Team members, and Special Education Service Providers.
  2. Serve as part of an interdisciplinary team that develops and implements behavior plans for individual students.
  3. Assists with direct implementation of skill acquisition and behavior intervention plans developed by the CST and/or BCBA/Behaviorist.
  4. Utilizes crisis prevention protocols including de-escalation strategies, restraint and seclusion procedures, and completion of behavior reports.
  5. Conduct certain types of assessments such as stimulus preference assessments and collect appropriate data.
  6. Review data on a regular basis with the CST, BCBA/behaviorist, teacher(s), and other necessary staff members to revise the behavior plan as is necessary.
  7. Collect data regarding student performance and progress and share this information with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  8. Collect specific data reflecting student progress towards IEP behavior goals and objectives and participate in IEP meetings as necessary.
  9. Maintain ongoing communication between school staff and CST/BCBA.
  10. Participation in staff development appropriate to specific position.
  11. Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
  12. Protect confidentiality of records and information about students and staff, and use discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines.
  13. Adhere to New Jersey school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies and regulations, school regulations and procedures, and contractual obligations.
  14. Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the CST or principal, and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.

Compensation
$30/hour – following the academic calendar, W2 contact
