Job Description

Very large Managed Care company with offices around NYC, is currently seeking an experienced Member Service Specialist to join their growing organization. This is a hybrid role (after probation) and comes with a competitive salary and benefits package. Please apply for more details! 

Member Service Rep – Hybrid – Brooklyn

Under the supervision of Intake Business Director, Member Service Specialist manages new enrollments (data entry, enrollments updates and electronic submissions); maintains members’ electronic and initial enrollment records; provides enrollment records to QA department; maintains Organization Case List in UAS; provides office assistance to Intake/Outreach Department and performs related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assesses all calls, interviews  callers and in details explains plans and their covered benefits
  • Manages and handles all information related to a referral and enrollment
  • Inputs demographic information into the database and establishes initial Member Record
  • Conducts plan-to plan transfers calls with  New York Medicaid Choice/Maximus  for prospective members assessed by Health plans Intake RNs and agreed to proceed with enrollment
  • Provides support to Intake Clinical staff to obtain required CDPAS documents in accordance with Intake Department procedure.
  • Prepares and provides Intake Records for Quality Assurance review and Health staff if required
  • Provides support to the  team/staff as needed
  • Keeps Intake Business Director up to date on any issues

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred
  • 2 years recent work experience in health care settings
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communicational skills
  • Computer literate (Microsoft word, excel)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Bi-lingual Chinese or Russian preference

Compensation:

  • Hourly salary: $30.2197
