Job Description

.Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in supporting medically fragile students with medical and physical needs within the school environment.  This person is responsible for delivering direct care and student care and assisting with student centered activities that promote access to learning and progress toward individualized Education Program (IEP) outlined goals.

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide personal care services including toileting, feeding, hygiene, and other activities of daily living (ADL's)
-Support students with mobility challenges, including but not limited to ambulation, transfer, and positioning to ensure safe and effective access to the school environment.  
-Assist in implementing classroom routines and learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher and related service providers.
-Monitor and document student health and behavior as required while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with all school policies.
-Collaborate with educational staff to facilitate student engagement and independence in accordance with the IEP objectives.
-Respond to appropriate medical and behavioral incidents using appropriate protocols, skills, and training. 
Qualifications:
-Current CNA Certification required.
-Experience working with children or persons with disabilities preferred.
-Ability to follow care plans and educational strategies as directed by licensed professionals.
-Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
