Position Summary

Reporting to the VP & Chief Development Officer, the Senior Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations will lead fundraising efforts for the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) portfolio, which generates $10M+ annually.

As a member of the Development Executive Leadership Team, you will shape departmental and team strategy, align with institutional priorities, and oversee projects that advance philanthropy across the system. This role includes supporting the rollout of philanthropic practices at newly integrated hospitals, with an emphasis on building a robust institutional giving portfolio.

The Senior Director will serve as both strategist and entrepreneur—managing complex fundraising efforts while cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of top institutional funders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with hospital leadership, clinicians, and development colleagues to establish philanthropic priorities.
  • Set goals and strategies to expand and diversify corporate and foundation support.

  • Identify growth opportunities, ROI, and best practices to optimize CFR efforts.

  • Build visibility of leadership and experts with key funders.

  • Serve on the Development Executive Leadership Team, helping shape departmental strategy and initiatives.

  • Lead efforts to secure major and principal gifts from institutional funders.
  • Manage a portfolio of top corporate and foundation prospects.

  • Set and achieve annual goals for new prospect identification and revenue generation.

  • Build and grow corporate partner committees to increase engagement, advocacy, and giving.
  • Mentor and manage a team of 10+, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Create aligned, collaborative fundraising models across teams and departments.

  • Provide training and tools to ensure competitive proposals and effective stewardship.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Finance, Legal, and Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance and maximize opportunities.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 12+ years of fundraising/development experience within large, complex organizations.
  • 10+ years in a leadership role driving revenue and operational outcomes.
  • Proven success in institutional fundraising with a diverse revenue portfolio.
  • Experience in a matrixed environment with strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and capacity building.
