Full-Time | Leadership | $105,000–$120,000
A well-respected skilled nursing facility in Manhattan is seeking an experienced Director of Safety & Security to oversee all safety, security, emergency management, and environment-of-care programs. This is a highly visible, campus-wide leadership role within a mission-driven, patient-centered healthcare organization.
About the Role
The Director of Safety & Security will report to senior leadership and lead all functions of the Safety & Security Department. This includes developing policies, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating emergency management, and maintaining a safe physical environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and implement safety, security, and emergency management policies, procedures, and programs.

Oversee departmental operations, staffing, training, and performance management.

Manage departmental operating and capital budgets.

Conduct and report on regular risk assessments and safety/security audits.

Oversee the Environment of Care program across all required domains.

Coordinate emergency preparedness planning, response, and training.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Participate in performance improvement, information management, and infection control initiatives.

Develop standards of performance and productivity for departmental staff.

Facilitate organization-wide training and awareness related to safety and emergency management.

Monitor implementation of Environment of Care Committee recommendations and track effectiveness of improvements.

Complete annual evaluations of all safety and Environment of Care programs.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of management experience, including 2–3 years of supervisory experience in safety/security operations (healthcare experience strongly preferred).

Fire Safety Director Certificate required.

Strong knowledge of safety regulations, emergency preparedness, and environment-of-care standards.

Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to write reports, develop procedures, and present information to leadership teams and staff.
Salary
$105,000 – $120,000 annually
(Final compensation depends on experience, credentials, and organizational factors.)
