Job Title Correctional Registered Nurse
Pay: Local Contract Commute back and forth from permanent address
$45.00 an hour
Pay: Travel Contract
$1841.00 Gross Weekly
$20.00 an hour taxed
$1091.00 tax free stipends for Housing and Meals and Incidentals Per Diem
$500.00 Travel Allowance ($250.00 to assignment and $250.00 from assignment) must qualify

Position Summary
RN Overview
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in a correctional facility, you will be providing essential healthcare services to an incarcerated population, ensuring patients receive timely, appropriate medical attention within a secure environment. The role includes conducting assessments, administering medications and treatments, managing chronic and acute conditions, and responding to medical emergencies. RNs also collaborate with custody staff and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining strict adherence to safety, legal, and
ethical standards. The overall purpose of the position is to promote health, prevent disease, and ensure continuity of care while supporting the safety and operational integrity of the correctional system.
Key Duties:
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, triage medical needs, and document
findings in accordance with clinical and correctional protocols
• Administer medications, treatments, and injections while ensuring proper storage, handling, and documentation
• Monitor and manage chronic and acute conditions, including responding to medical emergencies and coordinating higher-level care when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and ensure compliance with legal,
regulatory, and facility-specific standards
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and custody staff to
support patient care while maintaining safety and security within the facility

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in fast-paced, high-risk
environments
• Ability to maintain safety, security awareness, and professional boundaries at all times
• Effective communication and de-escalation skills when working with diverse and challenging populations
• Knowledge of correctional healthcare regulations, infection control, and ethical
standards
Responsibilities
• Shift details: Day and Night shift openings! 6am-7pm, 6pm-7am, every other
weekend required
• Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week
• Three 13 hour shifts with 30 minute unpaid lunch
• Contract length: 13 week Contract
Requirements
• Must have at least 1 year recent nursing experience in Correctional, Behavioral
Health/Psych, LTC, or Acute Care experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Must have South Carolina or Compact Nursing License
• AHA or American Red Cross BLS required
• TB test within the last year
