Job Description

Senior Director, Member Engagement & Retention
Healthcare / Managed Care Leadership
Hybrid — New York City – 2 days a week in NYC office and 3 days a week remote

RCM Health Care Services is partnering with a large, mission-driven health plan to identify a Senior Director of Member Engagement & Retention to lead enterprise-level strategy focused on member experience, retention, and community engagement.
This senior leadership role will oversee customer engagement operations, retention initiatives, and field-based support teams while driving performance through analytics, operational improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is an opportunity for a strategic, data-driven leader who can operate at both the executive and operational levels.


Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise member engagement and retention strategy
  • Oversee retention, escalation, and field engagement teams
  • Use data, KPIs, and operational insights to improve retention outcomes
  • Partner with providers, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and optimize workflows, outreach strategies, and communication approaches
  • Monitor member experience trends and escalation patterns
  • Build reporting frameworks and present insights to senior leadership
  • Coach and develop large, cross-functional teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engagement operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of managed care or health plan experience required
  • 4+ years leading large operational or customer-facing teams
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and operational leadership skills
  • Experience managing KPIs, reporting, and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Advanced Excel and data-analysis experience preferred
  • Call center or member-services leadership experience a plus

Compensation
Salary up to $230,000, plus comprehensive benefits.
