Medical Assistant
Hourly Rate: $ 22-24 per Hour
Location: Gilbert AZ
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant – Vision Screening is responsible for conducting basic visual assessments, including Snellen visual acuity testing and color vision/blindness screenings, in a professional and efficient manner. This role supports overall patient health evaluations by accurately performing screenings, documenting results, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The Medical Assistant will follow established protocols, maintain confidentiality, and communicate findings to the appropriate clinical staff.

Key Duties
- Perform vision screenings, including Snellen visual acuity and color vision/blindness testing
- Accurately document screening results in patient records or reporting systems
- Prepare and maintain screening equipment to ensure proper function and cleanliness
- Explain screening procedures to patients and provide clear instructions during testing
- Communicate abnormal findings or concerns to the appropriate clinical staff
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all safety and compliance protocols
Requirements
Education
- Required: High school diploma or GED
Licenses & Certifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or diploma program (often 9–12 months), or
- An Associate degree in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field
Skills
- Reliable and dependable with the ability to consistently follow screening schedules and protocols
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting and documenting vision screenings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and staff
- Ability to follow standardized testing procedures and maintain compliance standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and documentation skills for recording patient screening results
