Job Description

Job Title: Senior Risk Adjustment Data Engineer
Salary Range: $120,000 – $130,000 per year
Location: New York, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite in the NYC office
Position Summary
A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Risk Adjustment Data Engineer to support risk adjustment analytics, data integration, and reporting initiatives. This role serves as a key technical resource responsible for managing complex healthcare data workflows, supporting vendor data exchanges, and developing scalable data solutions that drive business performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL development skills, experience working with healthcare datasets, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift

  • Full-Time, Permanent
  • Hybrid work arrangement – Two days per week onsite in New York City and Three days per week Remote
  • Standard business hours

Key Duties

  • Serve as the technical liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendor partners.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data workflows, ETL processes, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Analyze claims, membership, provider, and clinical data to identify trends and support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
  • Generate recurring data extracts and manage data exchanges with external partners and vendors.
  • Validate data quality, reporting logic, and system processes through testing and troubleshooting.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and ongoing analytics initiatives.

Requirements
Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Database Management, or a related field.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Relevant technical certifications are a plus.

Skills

  • 5+ years of SQL Server database development experience, including stored procedures, views, functions, and ETL workflows.
  • Experience working with complex healthcare data, including claims, enrollment, provider, and EHR data.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as 837, 834, C-CDA, FHIR, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Python, .NET, JavaScript, or related technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare payer, managed care, or health plan experience.
  • Risk adjustment, population health, or value-based care analytics experience.
  • Experience managing vendor data exchanges and healthcare data integrations.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehouse environments and reporting architectures.
