RCM Healthcare is looking for a Teacher of the Moderately Cognitively Impaired (MoCI) in Michigan designs and executes customized instruction to build students' academic, functional life, and social skills. They manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), direct classroom aides, and collaborate with related service providers to support students toward maximum independence and community integration. Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Planning: Adapt state curricula and design lessons tailored to students' cognitive and adaptive functioning levels. Focus areas typically include activities of daily living (ADLs), self-care, and prevocational skills. 
• IEP Management: Write and lead IEPs, progress-monitor goals, and maintain compliance with federal and state special education guidelines. 
• Behavior & Classroom Management: Develop and implement functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and positive behavior intervention plans (BIPs). 
• Collaboration: Partner with ancillary staff (e.g., Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers) and build strong communication channels with parents and caregivers. 
• Staff Supervision: Guide and coordinate the day-to-day work of paraprofessionals and instructional aides assigned to the classroom. 

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Requires a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Cognitive Impairment (CI) endorsement.
• Physical Demands: Requires physical stamina for tasks like lifting/transferring students, assisting with personal hygiene, and active floor-level instruction.
• Compliance: Experience logging services for Medicaid billing and familiarity with state-mandated assessment accommodations.
