Job Description

Job Title: Instructional Paraprofessional

Compensation –
Hourly Rate: $25.00-28.00 per hour
Location: Hinckley, OH

Remote / Onsite – Onsite school setting

Position Summary
As an Instructional Paraprofessional, you will provide specialized educational assistance and support to teachers and students in a school setting. You will work with individual students and small groups, including students with special needs, to support academic, social, and educational goals. The role requires collaboration with teachers, administrators, staff, and parents while following applicable State of Ohio and Federal educational requirements and school safety guidelines. This is a full-time position for the 2026/2027 school year.

? Key Duties
– Provide instructional and educational assistance to individual students and small groups, including support with academic work, projects, assignments, technology, and computer-based learning programs.
– Assist teachers with lesson assessments and instructional responsibilities while supporting students' academic, social skills, and character education goals.
– Follow student safety plans, school rules, and guidelines; participate in required training and accept assignments related to student safety when necessary.
– Provide student support as needed, which may include lifting, bathroom assistance, personal assistance, and physical intervention for student safety.
– Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, and parents; complete required paperwork and other duties as assigned.
Requirements

? Education
– Required: Educational aide or educator licensure (ESEA Qualified).
– Preferred (if applicable): 1–2 years of experience working with students with special needs.

? Licenses & Certifications
– Required: Educational aide or educator licensure.
– Additional certifications (if applicable): Required school or assigned training, including Safe Schools training, as applicable.

Skills:
– Demonstrated maturity, patience, and ability to support students academically and emotionally to foster the learning process.
– Ability to identify and refer situations to the Principal as needed, follow instructions, respond to leadership direction, and accept feedback.
– Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing student demands, and respond appropriately to delays or unexpected events.
– Ability to consistently report to work on time and meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and moving as needed to respond to student needs.
