Physical Therapist (PT, School-based)

Compensation Range: $63-68/hour
Location: Wyandotte, MI; Onsite – School Setting

Position Summary
The School Physical Therapist will be assessing students' physical development level; providing appropriate treatment to meet individualized student objectives; providing recommendations for program development and student placement; and providing direction to Physical Therapy Assistants. We're searching for a part-time PT who is eager to work with one Preschool student for now and possibly take on additional students as caseload needs grow. • Hours per week: 1-2 hours per week
• Contract length: School Year

Key Duties

• Interpret physician orders related to professional area of responsibility
•  Assess gross motor skills and therapeutic equipment needs of students
•  Develop, implement, monitor, and modify treatment plans based on physician orders and assessment of the student as appropriate
• Collaborates with the school team to develop Individualized Education Programs and Section 504 Plans to address the students' unique needs
• Deliver direct therapy services and consultative support across assigned schools and settings
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to help shape student plans and goals
• Manage and document caseload efficiently using the district's IEP system
• Coordinate with teachers, staff, and caregivers to facilitate student success and progress
• Provide thorough communication and reporting on student outcomes as needed
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district protocols, including fingerprinting and background requirements

Requirements
Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist – State of Michigan
• Michigan Driver’s License
• Pediatric experience preferred
