Location: Remote (New York, NY area preferred)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Salary Range: $114,000 – $124,000
Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with occasional on-site presence for key meetings or business needs
Position Overview
We are seeking a Regulatory Guidance Manager to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will ensure the organization remains compliant with evolving healthcare regulations by interpreting, summarizing, and distributing guidance across business units. You’ll work closely with regulatory agencies, internal teams, and leadership to analyze requirements, support implementation, and manage regulatory risks.
This role supports the Director of State Regulatory Guidance and requires a strong understanding of New York State managed care products, along with a proactive approach to research and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and disseminate regulatory updates impacting all NYS-regulated lines of business.
- Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) and Product teams to implement regulatory changes.
- Conduct regulatory research and provide interpretation of new laws, guidance, and trends.
- Assess regulatory impacts and advise leadership on recommended actions.
- Maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies and represent the organization during stakeholder calls.
- Prepare summaries of regulatory meetings and communicate updates to senior staff.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Operations team on the preparation and submission of required filings and documentation.
- Participate in vendor changes, program implementations, and carve-in/carve-out transitions.
- Support external audits and surveys (e.g., Article 44 Operational Survey), including uploading data to the Health Commerce System (HCS).
- Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s or JD preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or an equivalent combination of experience in managed care operations.
- Strong knowledge of NYS managed care products and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
