Job Description

Risk Manager
Compensation
Salary Range: $125,000 – $135,000 per year

Location: Queens, NY
Onsite

Position Summary
As a Risk Manager in a hospital setting, you will support the identification, investigation, and management of risk-related events to enhance patient safety and organizational compliance. Working under the direction of the Director of Risk Management, you will coordinate incident reporting, facilitate investigations, and contribute to risk mitigation strategies. This role plays a critical part in improving clinical outcomes and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
? Schedule / Shift

  • Shift details: Day Shift, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Hours per week: 40

? Key Duties:

  • Manage and coordinate incident reporting systems, including investigations of adverse events and near misses
  • Analyze risk management data and prepare reports to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Process legal documents and coordinate with defense counsel and insurance providers on claims and inquiries
  • Support risk management committees, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a resource to clinical staff to reduce risk and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Requirements
? Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related health science field
  • Preferred (if applicable): Master’s degree

? Licenses & Certifications

  • Required: NYS RN, NP, PA, or allied health licensure preferred; CPHRM preferred

? Skills:

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills for risk and trend analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional activities
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, risk management practices, and patient safety standards
