Hourly Rate: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

Location: Hawaii; Onsite

Position Summary

As a Paraprofessional, you will provide academic, behavioral, and personal support services to students across various grade levels within a school-based setting throughout Hawaii. This role supports students with IEPs by assisting with classroom instruction, behavior management, skill generalization, and daily living support while collaborating closely with teachers and school staff. Responsibilities include supporting student learning, promoting inclusion, assisting with behavioral interventions, and helping students access educational environments safely and successfully. Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift

• Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday–Friday
• Hours per week: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Contract length: School-based assignment

Key Duties

• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities for individuals and small groups of students
• Reinforce lessons, support classroom routines, and adapt materials to meet student needs
• Collect and document student data as directed by teachers and school staff
• Provide support to students in achieving academic, behavioral, and social goals outlined within IEPs
• Assist with implementing specially designed instruction under the direction of a special education teacher
• Supervise students during classroom transitions and support student safety throughout the school day
• Assist with implementation of student crisis plans and behavioral interventions as needed
• Support students with toileting, diapering, hygiene, feeding, mobility, and other daily living needs
• Perform light clerical duties and participate in trainings, meetings, and team collaboration activities

Requirements

Education

• Required: Must meet one of the following:
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Completion of at least 48 college credits at the 100 level or higher from a regionally accredited institution
  • Passing score of 459 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: Ability to pass background check and meet district employment requirements

Skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff in a classroom environment
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a student-centered approach
• Comfortable supporting students with toileting, diapering, and personal care needs
• Ability to assist with lifting, mobility support, and extended periods of standing or movement
• Ability to support student behavioral and academic goals in educational settings
