Director of Nursing – Hematology/Oncology

Boston, MA (Onsite) | Full-Time
$190,000 – $240,000

A leading academic medical center in Boston is seeking a Director of Nursing – Hematology/Oncology to join its leadership team. This is a high-impact role overseeing clinical operations, nursing practice, and performance across a specialized oncology service line within a mission-driven healthcare organization.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Clinical Director, the Nurse Director will provide strategic and operational oversight for nursing practice while partnering with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care.

This role is focused on:

  • Driving clinical excellence and patient outcomes
  • Developing and implementing care standards and clinical initiatives
  • Leading performance improvement and quality initiatives
  • Supporting staff development and fostering a high-performing team environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of nursing operations within Hematology/Oncology
  • Ensure adherence to clinical practice standards, regulatory requirements, and quality benchmarks
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and monitor outcomes
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategic solutions
  • Drive staff development, retention, and engagement initiatives
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and leadership to enhance patient care delivery
  • Support quality reviews and regulatory compliance efforts

Qualifications

Required:

  • BSN required (Master’s preferred)
  • Active, unrestricted Massachusetts RN license
  • Hematology/Oncology clinical experience
  • 5+ years of nursing experience
  • Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting

Preferred:

  • Strong background in healthcare operations and performance improvement
  • Experience leading teams in complex healthcare environments
  • Ability to drive clinical, operational, and financial outcomes

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time role based in Boston, MA (02118)
  • Must report onsite (not a remote position)
  • No regular travel required
