Position Summary
Large community-based Hospital which is the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County, New York, is currently seeking and experienced Nurse Practitioner in their Endocrinology department. The organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus in Endocrinology to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with endocrine and metabolic disorders. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to manage both acute and chronic endocrine conditions in accordance with New York State scope of practice. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex endocrine conditions while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift:
- Full-Time Day
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Duties:
- Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with endocrine disorders, including but not limited to diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and metabolic conditions.
- Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with New York State regulations and institutional guidelines.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing
Licenses and Certification:
- Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitione
- DEA License
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP)
Skills:
- Clinical experience in Endocrinology strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of endocrine disease management and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience managing complex endocrine and metabolic conditions
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
